Young People
We are strong: we are young
We are forceful: we are insightful
We have strength – strength of passion
But often not with discretion: we need counsel
We have time: we have life
We have motion: the earth seems our own
We have the moment – we refrain to wait a process
But motion in circles is no promotion: we need direction
We stand tall in all: we seem to know it all
What is years of experience when we have vision?
But oft without convictions – we falter in challenges
Wobbling within options: we need patience.
Tell me – the blood of a youth
And I will sing the song in its tune
It reeks of emotion sparks in highs and lows
But settles on the beads of time in a steady flow
Young people!
I wish that your fire ignites
and burns through a thousand years.
I’d love to see the spark in your eyes
twinkle throughout eternity.
You must not die out,
your heart is a fine line.
Truly, all things are possible
but maybe not as you intend.
Will you submit your will for direction?
Will you seek counsel in every step?
Will you commit to the process when you find it?
Then, God is your limit if you can find His bounds.
Ho! Ye that thirst for greatness
Seek ye out of The Book and read.
Locate the old path: walk in it
And find rest for your souls.
Selah!

This is wonderful ma. Never knew you were a great poet. The poem was us to go back to our old roots which is in the Word of God,to seek our directions and counsel from God.
Thanks for reading, Pauline
