The Making of The Book, “Things I Wish Someone Told Me About Relationship.

When the book, “Attraction – I Think I’m Falling in Love” was out, I thought it a setup; how I ended up writing a book not intended.

But with, “Things I Wish Someone Told Me About Relationship”, I can just accept that I am a spectator in my life events.

How do I even explain, that this book was one year in the making when I thought it was just two months?

I had received a very confusing instruction to share my story in January 2020. I didn’t have a platform, nor a blog then. All I had was impressions compelling me to write things I didn’t want to write and posting “everywhere”. But this didn’t last beyond the first few months. By April, I was burdened by every other thing and different things throughout the year.

By the end of the year, I simply wanted to do a Christmas promotion. So I decided to write a book. But the book expanded as it was being written, and it could not be Christmas promotion. The next available festive season was February 14. So I decided it’d be a Valentine promotion.

With this date in mind, I worked on the book, Things I Wish Someone Told Me About Relationship”, re-writing severally just to get the message out.

At the time, there was to be a sequel of the book “Attraction- “ revealed  as “Transformed by Relationship”. But somehow, the book “Transformed by Relationship” seemed too broad to be written. So I had abandoned it temporarily, while working on this new book.

As soon as I was done, I got stuck on a tagline for the subtitle. I tried out so many lines, none worked.

Fun fact #1 – I had known that the alternate cover of the book, “Attraction – “ would be the cover of the book, “Transformed by Relationship”.

Fun fact #2 – In the course of writing this book, “Things I Wish Someone Told Me About Relationship”, the brand manager chose the same picture as the book cover of this book. Mentally, I couldn’t agree with that, wondering how two different books could have the same book cover.

Here I was later on, stuck on a subtitle, until one day it dropped in my heart; the subtitle – Transformed by Relationship Series 1.

I could not help but laugh. I could not help but be awed.

And after the pre-launch of this book, I remembered I had been given an instruction to share my story, early in January 2020. That I had just done with the book, “Transformed by Relationship Series 1; Things I Wish Someone Told Me About Relationship“ pre-launched on February 14, 2021.

Fun fact #3 – I have been a knack for planning all my life, yet, I couldn’t see nor plan this one happening right before my eyes.

Fun fact #4 – I find it hard to place myself somewhere in this book. Literally, it would be correct to say the book wrote me because I didn’t consciously write with the intent of communicating the message I eventually did. I only knew what I was writing about after writing.

And I could not tell that I know the purpose of this book, entirely. I simply watch to see what happens, just like you.
