Life Choices
Have you ever gone shopping and you were really confused because of the multiple displays of different brands of the same item?
Similarly, we are constantly making decisions for all time we live and interact on the earth and a wide variety of “good” – all things we seek – exist in the world.
But, while the items in a grocery store may not come with much consequences, our life choices (choice of a life partner, a job/business, a career path, etc) come with weighty implications.
So God acts to protect us in saying;
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things shall be added to you”… Matt 6:33.
For indeed, if left to choose and get things by ourselves, we’d struggle much and be deceived more, even as man does not know beyond his five senses.
Man does not know the end from the beginning. He only knows the moment which is still inaccurate in his judgment for time is fleeting and things change in a second’s glance.
In all of his wisdom and strength, he cannot discern without the help of the Spirit of God, as such he is readily deceived, making wrong choices and returning with woes and many philosophies from his poor choices.
Thus, it has been written, as a warning;
“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” – Proverb 16:25.
And as a guide, He says;
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him (ask him/seek his counsel), and he shall direct thy paths” – Proverbs 3:5,6.
And to protect us, He gives a better option – do his bidding and leave out the choosing and getting of things to him, who being the eyes of the earth, is able to discern and bring to us, the good that is really good for us, in all things we seek.
Now we see that our greater need is not the things we seek but our ability to ask and receive from him.
You can ask him anything today – learn of him.
