A Lover’s Voice.
A man falls in love with a woman and that is the end of himself. His thoughts are no longer his but for someone else. All of his being yearn for his lover. He is only complete in her embrace.
A million words he could read from her gaze. Her every dainty step sends home a message.
It is many years down the road and he knows when she needs a massage. He does not bring a cup of coffee but a bowl of ice cream and a feet scrub when her feets hurt.
He spots her voice in the midst of a chatter; he has known his woman. He is committed to the love of her. He is given to the service of his maiden for all time his heart beats for her.
Why then does man seek out the voice of a maker he has not known? Is He any less than a maiden?
He may shout and call out all day but unlearned man cannot hear. He has not known his voice. He cannot hear the call.
It is many months of courtship and the voice of a lover is learned. Through a life of committed fellowship, her desires are unmistaken.
So listen and understand, unlearned man, a relationship proceeds a hearing, a communion then an understanding.
You don’t seek out the voice of a maker you have not known, you learn of him first. Then you’d hear his voice even as he speaks. And you will understand his sayings as it comes.
And He speaks continuously in the embers of each day, but only the learned can hear him…only true lovers understand his voice.
